Snow! Record snowfalls and low temperatures this month have made Houghton Lake (and our parking lot) into a winter wonderland. Come on up and enjoy!
New Items for 11/15/08
We have quite a few new items this week, here are the highlights.We just received a pile of chainsaw-carved bear coffee and end table bases, just waiting for tops. The faces on these have so much character. Beautiful new Katy Creek lamps arrived mid-week. We ordered a few of these carved, painted loons for a customer, and decided to get a few for the store. You won't believe the price on these!
New Items for 11/10/08
Chandeliers! Normally we carry 5 light Mule Deer & Whitetail fixtures, but we decided to offer some larger Moose and Elk antler chandeliers. The largest is Elk antler, nearly five foot wide and four foot tall. You won't believe our prices on these!
We Finally Did It!
Last year, we updated the exterior of our buildings, and we were so pleased with the results, we decided it was time to update the mauve interior of our store. The months of September and October we have been very busy with a "minor" remodel of the interior. Probably the most difficult part was the carpet. Dad likes to keep the store full, and open regular hours as much as possible, so we moved 600 square feet of furniture a night to give the carpet installers room to work. the next morning, we moved the furniture back again.
We like to buy local and use local services as much as possible, and this project was no exception. We had the help of Bob, from R. W Reidel and Co. for the tongue and groove end match paneling. Dennis from D&M painting helped get rid of the rest of the mauve. Finally Jeff, from The Floor Store, helped us pick out great commercial carpet. His crew worked nights so we could stay open during the day.
